Welcome to Elizabeth Nerich's Page
When I was 2 years old my uncle, Garrett Schmeelk, passed away from AIDS. I was too young to understand what was going on, but as I got older and learned more about this disease my passion to help those with it grew. My uncle had AIDS at a time when it was a death sentence, a death sentence with a mile-long rap sheet of stereotypes. Thank god we have come a long way since then. But there is still a long way to go!
Since high school, I have walked in the annual New York AIDS Walk hosted by GMHC. This year I have moved to San Francisco and am so excited to be close enough to participate in AIDS Walk LA! Heres to a great walk! :)
