Welcome to Laura Hovermale's Page
I’m participating in this year’s AIDS Walk Los Angeles, a 10K fundraising walk to fight the epidemic.
Now, I know that we all get many requests for donations to many different worthy organizations. This one is personal to me as I have friends currently living with HIV/AIDS... and I have lost friends due to HIV/AIDS... and I want this to be a thing of the past. Until such time as we can end it, we must help those who live with this every day of their lives. A one time donation is a small sacrifice compared to a lifetime of pills and doctor's appointments and what unfortunately can still be a social stigma at times.
Thank you for considering a donation! Every dollar we raise helps APLA Health stop new infections and support people living with HIV/AIDS.
Join the Hollywood United Methodist Church Team (Team # 5436) on Sunday, October 23rd in Downtown Los Angeles for AIDS Walk LA.
This is the first year the walk will take place in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. The walk will start and end in Grand Park. No need to worry about parking this year since we can meet and park at the Hollywood Campus, then take Metro Red Line to Grand Park.
Not able to join us in walking? Please consider donating to our Team Goal.
The funds raised from AIDS Walk LA 2015 helped APLA to be able to:
• provide 63,000 hours of in-home healthcare visits for people in need
• distribute more than 130,000 bags of groceries from eight food pantry locations
• administer 2,834 HIV tests and 1,330 STD screenings
With your help, APLA can provide even more services to assist more people in the future. Won't you help us?
