Get Your Walk On!
Despite what you may or may not read in the paper or hear on the news, HIV continues to affect thousands and thousands of people in Los Angeles, their families, and friends. Due to advances in HIV treatment people are living longer and more productive lives and therefore continue to rely on APLA for their independence and stability. Moreover, 1,900 become infected with HIV in Los Angeles each year; 1 in 5 people with HIV don’t know it; and an additional 20,000 people are not connected to primary healthcare.
Although we do not have a vaccine, getting people tested and connected to healthcare and life saving treatment can help us end the epidemic.
So put on your most stylish shoes, or go barefoot, and walk on over to your computer, log on, and donate on my AIDS Walk Los Angeles webpage. You can also join us at our new location in Grand Park.
