It's my fifth year participating in AIDS Walk Los Angeles, and I've set a pretty lofty goal!
That's right! I'm trying to raise $10,000 by Oct. 23, and I need your help!
As you know, the Walk helps to raise much needed funds for APLA and 20 other AIDS support agencies. Without the money from the walk, thousands of people in Southern California would go without health care, shelter and food. Many would end up hungry and homeless, with nowhere to turn.
This year I've done brief interviews with ten of the people who work and volunteer for APLA, to hear their stories about how the various agencies help those in need. I'll be posting these interviews on Facebook. I hope you find them informative, and that you'll even want to share a few to support the cause!
I'm especially excited this year to spearhead ABC7's team effort! We will be involving our viewers and followers on social media to participate in new and exciting ways. On the day of the Walk, we hope to use #abc7eyewitness to share our progress, and pass along some of our spirit and energy as we march for the first time through Downtown L.A.
So what do you say? Will you help me on my journey? I know I ask every year, but the need continues. I'm counting on your generosity to help me reach my goal, and every dollar counts!
